Day 9: Treasured

Vacation: Day 7

Today was a day filled with driving and visiting a few more states!

We have been extremely lucky in our married life to say that we have visited all the states in the US except two ~ Oklahoma and Minnesota. So today we headed northwest in order to tick off Oklahoma from our "have not visited" list!

Our first stop was Joplin, Missouri to check out Wildcat Glades Conservation and Audubon Center. We walked some of the trials (and I almost stepped on a snake!) keeping our eyes to the sky watching for birds. We kept hearing a woodpecker but never actually saw him/her. We did see plenty of kids searching for treasure!

From Joplin we traveled into Kansas (that's state #3 for this trip if anyone is keeping track!) and then south to Miami (pronounced MY-AM-AH), Oklahoma!! Yeah, now we can say we have been to 49 states overall and 4 states on this trip alone! While in Miami, OK we toured the old Coleman Theatre that had recently been restored.

After leaving Oklahoma we traveled back to Joplin to see the Grand Falls and then back to our condo. Although we traveled many miles, we had a great day!
