Door

As I was leaving yesterday the tiler asked me to come into the house on Monday afternoon to discuss grout colour. This morning I realised that he must have used most of the tiles I'd sorted yesterday so I should go and sort some more ready for his work tomorrow. I was much more efficient today: instead of going through boxes that the tiler and I had carried upstairs, then carrying the rejects back out again (each box is 14kg) I climbed over the wall between my garden and my neighbours' and stood at the pallet in the garden slicing boxes open there, making piles to go into the house and putting the ones I don't want to use back onto the pallet - suitably labelled.

It was sunny but cold! And tiles hold coolth. I was very glad when I reckoned I had enough to keep him occupied tomorrow.

The house is boarded up at the back when the builders aren't there so I couldn't take the tiles inside myself but I did go back through my neighbours' house and into mine through the front door to look at the doors that the joiner hung yesterday. He's done the two rooms where the flooring was laid on Friday.
