Painted Lady

Another scorcher today and great to see some butterflies. The last 2 years have been really bad for them.

There were a few cabbage whites going around, then I spotted this little beauty so off I went tracking butterflies with my camera. Captured this one whilst kneeling in a patch of nettles and just managed a few shots before the cat decided to push in and scare it away. I sat there hoping that it would return, then spotted a hen sprinting after it, they must taste nice...: (
