All Creatures, Mostly Small

The absence of food in the feeders today didn’t seem to put the birds off. They seemed to be finding plenty to eat amongst the vegetation. The blackbirds were back on the Pyracantha berries - now looking a bit shrivelled, but cleary still having some nutrition value.
As well as the rats in the garden, I was somewhat surprised when a tiny creature scuttled across the rug last night whilst I was watching TV. We put out a couple of humane traps primed with peanuts, and sure enough, this morning, a small furry creature was occupying one of them. I assumed it was a baby Wood Mouse, as we get them all the time in the garden, but when Mr PB released it it, it certainly looked more like a vole.
