Mum's dancing medals

Today I have been doing some much needed housework. F is coming for tea and he would never notice or care but I know!

I've also been doing a bit of sorting out and I came across Mum's dancing medals for ballroom and Latin.

She had been Dad's carer for three years ( along with my brother M, I lived away at the time). She had been unable to do anything and go anywhere for thattime apart from playing the organ at chapel so when he died it was a huge life change.

She found it difficult to start going out again (she was in her late 50s) so friends persuaded her to go ballroom dancing with them.  It was the best thing that they could have done as she loved it and went to dances with friends for some years afterwards.  She had lessons and was very pleased with the medals that she achieved (in 1986).

I'm sure that Dad would have been pleased to see her beginning a new life after very difficult times.

She joined Blip but never put any photos on but was always thrilled when any of the family appeared in my journal.
