Soviet Tank
The ZENIT 12 xp is a 35mm film camera that is sometimes called the "Soviet Tank." It is a heavy, solid camera that was manufactured in Russia, from around 1983 until 1994. The "xp" in the model name stands for "export version."
Metering is accomplished by watching two little red LED's in the viewfinder. One is for over exposure and the other is for under. Adjust the camera accordingly until both LED's are lighted, which indicates correct exposure.
This particular camera came with a Super-Takumar 50mm 1.4 lens. Five shutter speeds; 30, 60, 125, 250, and B.
This is the camera that was used for the recent "Pretend Film" camera club outing.
