A glorious day. top to bottom, side to side.

To Stirling and beyond. To Blair Mains Farm Shop & Coffee Bothy for lunch at the foot of the impressive Ochil hills. They are a victim of their own success a 30 minute wait for a table, but they give you one of those vibrating beepers so you can amuse yourself by spending money in the farm shop or their furniture stuff before being summoned to your table. It came to pass, my trouser pocket started vibrating with a vigour that was not entirely unpleasant.

Me, mac & cheese. Very nice, delicious in fact, but a huge portion that went unfinished, turns out, although the menu fails to disclose it, you can order portions that normal people can eat. Mrs FP a traditional battered fish & chips. They had an intriguing Sri Lanka Lamb Curry on the menu too, which tempted, perhaps next time. The staff were great, couldn’t do enough but the service of food was slow, but they were rammed. I commented to a fellow diner that they must be doing something right. “You should see it at the weekend, you can’t get into the car park!” she said.

A dog walk was followed by a trip into Stirling, Mrs FP taking seven (SEVEN!) carrier bags into Waitrose. I fully expect she has bankrupted us but at least we will dine well over the next day or two before the bailiffs arrive.

Have a good weekend.
