Half A Century Ago

According to the diary she kept at the time, it was 50 years ago today that Tess and I first met, at a house party a friend and I had to celebrate our February birthdays.

Tess came to the party with the mutual friends in the blip, which is a photo of the earliest photo I can find of the two of us together, and was probably taken in the summer of 1973. Tess and I are on the right and our friends (another) Keith ( who was a school friend of mine) and his wife Linda (who Tess worked with for Thomas Cook in Harrods) are on the left.

I think the tank top I’m wearing in the photo might well have been the same one I was wearing to the party! We were obviously having a great day out and it’s been a wonderfully happy 50 years since then.

We had coffee at our friends’ Tony & Rosie’s house after Tess’s Keep Fat class this morning and, by way of celebration put together the partner chest of drawers to Wednesday’s blip this afternoon. 
Oh, and I cooked steak in peppercorn sauce for dinner tonight.
