Ugly or Beastly?

Only a mother could love this face. I would call this fish ugly but the woke brigade would prefer I use the word beastly. It’s like walking on egg shells to write anything or say anything without offending someone’s sensibilities. It’s become a very strange world for us older people: words we have used all our lives are suddenly verboten.

It was a lovely sunny morning and with a sudden injection of much needed energy, I tramped over Bruntsfield Links to Morningside Library and M&S before walking a circuitous route back by the Grange and the Meadows.

Some clouds have rolled in but I shall do the Meadows circuit soon before meeting my neighbours for the all important TGIF drinks at 4pm.
