Let them eat cake!

I decided I didn't want to risk my camera at the bar tonight so I decided on another phone shot. I'm pretty impressed with the iPhone camera, though - it's getting more use now that I've gotten hooked on Instagram. Had to happen someday!

Today I baked 40 cupcakes. I've never baked on that scale before, and I've never baked for such an important reason either, so I was a bit anxious. I think the big problem with baking more than, like, two batches of anything is that if one lot comes out a bit funky you're looking at re-doing around 20 cakes. Luckily for me, the baking gods were on my side and although a few looked a bit funny on top, mostly I ended up with 40 identical cupcakes.

I went out for drinks with Lucy and Liv, which was a welcome break after a day of hard effort. We had a lot of good chats about all sorts of things, especially Lucy's imminent return to Warwick (still so jealous). It was nice to just have a few drinks and chill out, and we all agreed we'll have to do it again soon.

This is a photo of Lucy's Pineapple Express, my Cosmopolitan and mine and Liv's empty Mojito glasses. We all ended up with Cosmos, which made it feel like a real girls night out! Nothing particularly special about the photo, but a nice memory of a lovely night!
