Life's a drag ..
Or, Lorry and drag....
An early start to get everything fed . By the time Kev arrived at 6.30 I had fed everything their barley . The lorry arrived in at 6.45 for the 33 blks that were going to the sale at St Boswells. Got them loaded without too much hassle. The drag had hydraulic decks which lift the whole floor up rather than having to run the cattle up a ramp to the upper deck. Much easier and safer than chasing 500kg of beef up a slope and trying to shut the door before the 500 kg of beef turns round and comes back down the ramp and over the top of you as you try to shut the door.
Left Kev on mucking out and bedding, loaded the terrier into the copilot seat in the Landrover and headed down the road to the mart.
Not a big sale, about 200, but a flying trade. My tops made £1690 and the average was £1500.
Headed to the canteen for lunch then back home to reality and a pile of bills the postman had kindly delivered.
So ,easy come ,easy go. Enough to pay for 2 loads of fertilizer, and a wee drop left to pay some more bills.
Hey ho......
