My Turn...
..to put up the columbine....or Aquilegia if you prefer.
The genus name Aquilegia is derived from the Latin word for eagle (aquila), because the shape of the flower petals, which are said to resemble an eagle's claw. The common name "columbine" comes from the Latin for "dove", due to the resemblance of the inverted flower to five doves clustered together.
Edit: Forgot what day it is. Check out my blip of a year ago regarding the eruption of Mt. St. Helens.
A busy day with auntie. Errands and messing about the mall. Had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, which really, we think, is one of the best restaurant chains. Yummy good stuff! It's not all pizza. In fact, I have yet to have a pizza at their restaurant. Maybe next time.
I'll try to catch up with you later. Hope your weekend is going well.
