To all the women whose stories have been lost

The Unearthed exhibition by Amy Williams at Blackwell, a paper installation celebrating the contribution of women in Cumbria who have often remained hidden, over-looked or unrecorded.  My favourites were Feverfew (celebrating Ann Allonby, a trusted nurse and healer of Little Langdale), Globeflower (celebrating Winifred Longton of Ulverston, a dedicated worker for social justice) and this Knapweed, for those have stories have been lost. I also went to a workshop led by Amy where we could try making our own paper flowers to take home.  See extra to get an idea of the size and colour of the exhibits.)
