Dunnock

A chilly morning with a brisk wind as we did our circuit of the village. This time, Janet took a pair of walking poles with her, in an attempt to take some of the strain off her feet. Of course, becoming a quadruped does take a little practice, and it reminded me of the dancing classes we went to decades ago before we wed... rhythmic motor skills are a thing. ;-)

All the hedges were cut reasonably well over the winter. Perhaps the comments about worn out tractor flails did some good after all... This dunnock was willing to stand still for a moment, although in the low light I blew out the sky to get the detail and had to take another one at a more appropriate exposure to replace it with.

Thanks for your kind commiserations with regard to the voluntary life. I do enjoy it, but there always seems to be one more ball in the air than I can manage to juggle. I no longer worry about dropping the odd one. As I say, regularly and to anyone who'll listen, if you don't like what I'm doing, take it out of my wages... ah.
