Waiting

Another bird picture today, but this time a photo of a piece of cross-stitch work that Anne made quite a few years ago now. It shows quite a well known verse from the Bible which reads...

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40v31)

It seemed appropriate since tomorrow is Pentecost Sunday, when we remember that the first disciples were told by Jesus to wait until they received the Holy Spirit before commencing the task he set them as he ascended to heaven.

Pentecost has happened,so in that sense we no longer need to wait, but this verse encourages us to spend time with God and draw strength from Him.
