Fragile?

A report appeared a couple of weeks ago on the village FB page: one of the salt bins, formerly situated on a steep hill, high on a large verge, and pretty sturdy in construction, was mashed flat.  "Who did this?" was the question.

This is the answer to "What did this?".  Somehow this car mounted the high verge and demolished the salt bin before, again somehow, travelling around 500m to come to rest on another street in the village.  It is blocking the resident's drive requiring her to park elsewhere while this wreck remains in situ.  I don't know why there's a roll of "Fragile" packing tape on the bonnet, but the car must surely be a write-off.

The notice on the windscreen is a notification that the Council will do something with it shortly.

The driver used to be a presenter on a TV gardening programme, long ago, but is now a little changed in capacity, I believe.  I can't help but feel for the chap, now in difficult circumstances, becoming ever more difficult.
