Half time smiles!

Yesterday was pancake day and the Millers were taking on Sunderland!

The boys had Oreo pancakes for breakfast and savoury ones with bacon for dinner. We had savoury for dinner too with salmon and soft cheese.

We headed to the game, and after recent performances we were expecting a beating!! I collected 25 tickets for the England Under 19s game being hosted at the NYS next month, this will be Theo’s birthday party as such as his football team are watching it! Really it will be an afternoon to get together with his friends watching the sport they all love.

Settled into our seats the game kicked off with us starting brightly, handling their pressure well and creating our own chances, 18th minute Ollie Rathbone stuck a wonder shot in the back corner. In front we went! We had to hold off pressure but we were playing well. The referee despite being a premier league referee missed a blatant penalty for us, and that along with other decisions lead to him being booed off at half time after being chanted at for parts of the first half.

The boys all enjoyed a half time pukka pie! They do love a pie especially on the cold evening games!

Second half we started shakily, they put in in the net but this was ruled offside, we restarted and got our second almost instantly with a great effort from Fosu to set up Shane Ferguson for a second wonder strike of the evening.

Sunderland got one back, but we held on the last ten minutes we’re intense!

The sound of the NYS as that final whistle went was phenomenal, those three points are vital as we work our way step by step to surviving!

More of the same would be perfect, with 12 games left we still need 12-14 points to assure survival! I hope we do it!
