Backblip

My friend and I were on our way to see The Great Gatsby at the cinema when I spotted this scene from the car park. I recognised it immediately from the news reports as being HMS Edinburgh on it's tour of Britain prior to it's decommissioning. We just arrived as the crew disembarked to give a salute. Despite my faffing with my phone to get a photo, we made it to the cinema before the film.actually started. I love the book by F. Scott Fitzgerald and the Robert Redford version of the film, so I wasn't sure how I'd find this version. It is a visual extravaganza but I really enjoyed it and found myself lost in the story. Maybe not everyone's cup if tea but it gets the thumbs up from me!
