Living to a 100
After a morning on zoom yoga it was time for my daily one-mile walk. I don’t know if you read in last Sundays Observer the interviews with centenarians.
They were asked for the secret of their longevity. They all gave wildly different answers ranging from the 100-year-old man who walks a mile before breakfast every day to a 100-year-old former barwoman who attributed her longevity to whisky.
The only thing they had in common was that there was no shared trait though family and a strong social network were recurring themes.
Surprisingly nobody mentioned if they had parents who lived to a great age and, according to science, this is one of the best predictors of longevity.
At last some flowers are coming out in the garden. Today
I found winter aconites (see photo), hellebores, snowdrops and crocuses.
Maybe its too early to bid goodbye to winter. Some
weather pundits predict another cold snap by the end of the week.
