Blooming Mystery

I was gifted this orchid over five years ago. It hasn’t flowered for the last three years but to my delight has come into bloom again. I’ve been watching the buds form and swell, and slowly unfold to reveal these beautiful petals.

I’m not sure what’s caused them to flower. I’ve done nothing different and they have remained in the same position for years. I’m wondering if the cooler temperatures at night this winter made the difference.
