A big stretch

Nathaniel was aiming to miss out 2 monkey bars on his way round Cragside trim trail. Above blip. Before that we went to the adventure playground where our friends Val and Ray were watching their grandchildren. The girl and Ella are the same age and made friends so went to the swings for a chat. Her older brother aged 12 didn’t even acknowledge Nathaniel’s “hello” and went to sit in the car till they were all ready to go to the labyrinth.

After the trim trail they wanted to find the rocks they’d played on and made a river system. There wasn’t so much water this time but they managed to get nicely muddy anyway. Nathaniel twisted his ankle jumping off a rock. He says if it had happened at football he’d have been stretchered off. (He’s limping a bit).

Their parents’ day has not gone to plan. A signal failure meant their Edinburgh train wouldn’t be coming so they drove to Berwick where they found a hotel. But as it’s Monday the gallery etc is closed. And Luke had booked lunch at the Brasserie in the Balmoral so that’s disappointing.

We are going to play articulate later.

Mr C has booked the boat to Amsterdam for Sept. Just over a month with the van in the Western Balkans beckons. There’s so much to do and see there and I have a lot on my list but if anyone has any recommendations I’d be happy to hear them.
