Brooklyn Arts Center

This was a really beautiful old church now turned event center.  Today's event was a Made in North Carolina day with several artisans of all kinds of beautiful things. We did get a really nice soy candle named after the Alice In Wonderland theme called Curiouser and Curiouser and a fun jelly fish sculpture for the Little Naiema.  Later we went to a wonderful concert of the Wilmington Symphonic Winds. One of the selections was a piece by Julie Giroux called The Big Blue Marble (Earth) named after the first full image of Earth taken by Apollo 17 in 1972. There was a film accompanying it on 3 screens that showed some wonderful nature moments from rainforest to volcanoes, deserts and more. Just captivating.

Tomorrow we have a couple of very long time friends coming to visit for a couple of days on their way from New Jersey to Florida. Looking forward to our first real company.
