Mackerel Sky

Today's the day ......................... for the old and the new

A nice breezy afternoon to go for a walk and to blow away the cobwebs.

This is a view looking north-westwards towards the Galloway Hills but with the white shape of the Tongland Hydro Electric Power Station middle right.  Then to the left of it is the flat mound of Carse Mote with its circle of trees, lit up by the setting sun.  It is thought that this site pre-dates the Norman invasion of the British Isles and was probably an Iron Age hill fort.

So there's very much the old existing happily next to the new, in a landscape that has been around for time immemorial ..................
