Skenfrith Castle

A perfect day for a motorcycle ride, and the 4CB riding group set out with twenty three bikes from Chepstow for the first ride of 2023. 

Not a big ride; eighty five miles over five and a half hours, taking in the Bafflehaus between Pontypool and Abergavenny and the Skenfrith Castle on the river Monnow near the England Wales border. 

I'd never before been to Skenfrith and it's worth a visit (and free). Behind it is an old water mill, and that's in the extras... either of them might fit Derelict Sunday, but I reckon the mill wheel is a cert. 

Behind the two, in the River Monnow, two brave ladies of a certain age were wild swimming, which caused many a comment and a shiver from the bikers who now had to find a different tree to honour...
