A change of plan

This morning was the planned day for a walk on the selva plana (wooded plateau) above the village, organised by the Cercle Occitan and led by someone from the village who knows all the plants of the area. We woke up to a thunderstorm and the heaviest rain I've seen for months and I leaned dangerously out of the bedroom window to try to get photos of the unusual sight of water dripping off the tiles. We took advantage of a few unexpected free hours to do some tiling in the little house and then joined all the other (non)walkers for lunch that went on till 5 o'clock. Later we'll go back to have supper together because everyone contributed so much food - lo paratge (an Occitan word that means sharing, equality and valuing each other and much more that seems untranslatable).
