Flower Power

Two days ago, I noticed the tip of a new bud on our amaryllis. Yesterday, it had grown quite a bit higher, and I wanted to find out how fast the flower stalk actually grows, so I set up this little experiment.

The second photo is taken exactly 24 hours after the first one, and the stalk has grown 3.6 cm, or 1.4 inches in this time. I am rather impressed by its growth rate.

In other news: Feeling a bit better today, but still drained of energy, and lacking any sense of smell or taste. I‘ll definitely enjoy these two days of rest, before going back to work on Monday.
