Heron and eider

Despite it being a miserable day outside, I had a brief wander along Irvine harbourside before collecting Freya from her art class.

Another walker pointed out some seals in the distance which I couldn't have seen without their tip off. Too far for a decent shot though.

Then along from there, a heron was concentrating hard on fishing.

Not the clearest shot, but I liked the contrast of the birds' sizes - the heron really is a big bird...
