Bailey Bridge

The old bailey bridge crosses the N281.
The so-called Bailey bridge is composed of a steel beam construction resting on concrete pillars. Some of the steel beams have faintly visible markings; "DORMAN LONG & CO ……nrs?...44…..Cargo Fleet …nr ?……England", possibly indicating that the bridge sections in Britain during WW2 were built by the Fa Dorman Long & Co, a company employed in steel bridge construction.

However, it was not a new bridge, this bailey bridge originally comes from North Limburg and is of English origin, the bridge was demolished after the Second World War, stored, and later started a 2nd or 3rd life on Ten Esschen in a slimmed-down size and probably has a found a final resting place.

Currently, the bridge is no longer used by heavy traffic. It is now a bicycle and pedestrian bridge.
