Lancaster

An overnight trip to visit our daughter and her wife. The Borders scenery was stunning.. Vibrant green as the crops and grass in the fields take advantage of the mild weather. Blue skies and sunshine dappling the hills. And the same was true as we crossed parts of the Lake District.

Even more surprising was the lack of traffic on the roads until about 30 miles from our destination. Mid-term may account for it but it was a lovely easy drive.

Great to catch up with the family whom we have not seen since before Christmas and a lovely curry meal out. Tomorrow a few tasks to help out with then back up the road.

I took their dog for a walk into Lancaster. Up by the castle with views over to the Ashton Memorial (where they got married) show how steep and hilly Lancaster is.
