Energy companies announcing record profits for 2022?

People going on strike?

Politicians making public statements such as?  “…. people only use food banks because they can’t cook a meal from scratch …. and cannot budget” 

An aside; King Charles paid a visit to Milton Keynes this week.  It’s reported on the BBC News that he ‘explicitly’ requested to visit a food bank whilst here. 

Now I don’t know about you, but I’m prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it was from a genuine intererest in the work done by MK Food Bank - they support more than 5,000 families across the city - rather than because he can’t cook a meal or doesn’t know how to budget.

Back to the Big Issue.

The young woman who sold me this had been standing outside the Co-op most of the day.  Mine was only her second sale in all that time.  

This could be a line of course, designed to elicit my sympathy.  But I chat to her each week and have got to know her.  People who sell the Big Issue are doing something positive to turn their lives around.  So I’m inclined to believe what she tells me.  Certainly more than I do a politician.
