First signs

Walking up to the study past the pond two days ago I was aware of the noise of frogs.

Now we are into the second half of February, and the weather is not cold, the mating season has begun and already the surface is covered in these mats of spawn and within each jelly like compartment a tiny tadpole is now visibly  forming.

The first signs of spring.....
