I think the sound of cicadas is the sound of late summer in New Zealand.

P.S last nights fishing was modest but they had a nice time.  We shared a smoked mackerel with Andrew today. We took Kahawai, also smoked, on crackers as our contribution to street drinks.  The snapper went to the other chaps.
