Northern Arizona Topography
.....from 30,000 feet. It's better in Large.
It was an early wake-up at 2:30 in order to get ready and get to the airport on time for our 6:05 flight to Las Vegas. I managed to sleep for the first two hours but then I became mesmerized by the view out the window, starting somewhere in Nebraska.
This was taken somewhere between the Grand Canyon (which was clouded over) and the Hoover Dam.
We were within seconds of landing when I noticed that we started going up again. Apparently the pilots had been instructed to circle one time before landing, which allowed me to get the shot I have included in extra. This is the Las Vegas Valley looking West-Northwest toward Red Rock Canyon and snow covered Mount Charleston, the highest peak in Nevada. The Las Vegas strip is center-right. The large shadows are from the mountains on the southeast side of the valley. It was only 8:20 a.m. Pacific Time.
