Winchester Uke Jam Busk
This lunchtime we joined other members of the Winchester Uke Jam at a busk in Winchester High Street in aid of DEC's Turkey/Syria Earthquake Appeal. Martin and I played for just over an hour, by when our fingers were frozen. Some hardier souls lasted another ninety minutes! It was a great success as we raised £1900. Here is a photo I took after we and a few others had left. My sister kindly supported us by watching our performance.
After warming up over lunch in a cafe, my sister visited our Mum, who she found in a reasonable mood. Meanwhile, Martin and I cycled home and prepared an early evening meal.
This evening, we attended the local film club's showing of "The Outfit". It is a rather bloody, but very gripping, thriller, (released in 2022) set in 1950's Chicago. It starred the most excellent Mark Rylance, who we once saw (some twenty years ago)playing Olivia in Twelfth Night at the Globe Theatre in London.
It's been a most varied and interesting day!
