Diary of an Edinburgher

Bin Find no 435

JR came home from the gym in triumphant mode. Yesterday, at the shopping centre, she’d lost one of her nice leather gloves. She had re-traced her steps round the supermarket, but no luck. She went there again this morning after the gym, having remembered another shop she’d been in. And there it was!!

After a hearty breakfast she tried the e-bike battery. No lights on the bike, though the battery lit up as ‘full’. I tried too, switched it on and off, took it out, blew on the points, but still not working. On reading the instructions, it was advised to charge the battery up several times over a winter of non-use. Which we hadn’t done. A new battery needed?

Nothing for it, but to walk the bike round to the bike shop again. JR wasn’t game to ride it round. There, the chap saw the problem straight away - the battery wasn’t in properly - it wasn’t even touching the points on the bike. DUH! Hopefully JR’s friend will come and have a look at it this week.

I’ve enjoyed reading the reaction on the various media platforms from yesterday’s shock resignation of our esteemed leader. Wonder if she reads it…

This looked like a rather good suitcase, but there was a big crack down the other side.
