So many sheep!

Suddenly the field at the side of the house is full of sheep. Soon it will be full of lambs too. The farmer usually keeps them here close to the sheds when lambing is approaching. It may be a few weeks yet but definitely approaching. I do hope the lambs are lucky this year. The last three years it has snowed the week following the field being full of lambs, and I always feel so sorry for the wee little things and without their thick coats yet! I took this late this afternoon while I was waiting for my online shopping delivery. I don't usually wait outside but I wanted to watch them for a while. I'm pleased I did as the driver would have sailed on by if I hadn't flagged him down, which would have been a bit annoying. He was a very likeable chap though, as most of them are.
I had enjoyed a jolly afternoon at matting with friends, where we are working on three very different mats at present. A fox design, a random, mixed multi-colour design and a mat based on a Rennie Mackintosh theme, all quite unique and coming along nicely. I came home to a lovely gift of fresh eggs and homegrown veg from a friend, what a treat.
After dinner and clearing away it was phone call to mum, some knitting and easy watch TV.
All in all a really good day.
