Emergency Blip

A bit of a cheat really.   On a day when photo-ops were limited and what I did snap was rejected, a picture downloaded from a pottery WhatsAp group.   The kiln was emptied yesterday after a bisque fire, assorted items ready for glazing.   Lots of clay discs which will be used as glaze samplers, fired with various glazes and various number of coats which will be a great resource for us all.   There are three of my pieces there too, I'll reveal all another time.

An early start to get Jamie to Birmingham for the 103 train south.   We drove to Ruth's and caught the local train into New Street.  The local service reminds me of the tube in London where I grew up.  It's a handy thing, with Bournville station close by we were in the city centre twenty minutes after leaving Ruth's .... £2.15 return with my senior railcard!

An afternoon which included cutting back the bamboo at the end of Ruth's garden.  Lots of salvageable canes which can be used for sweet peas and the like.  Nice to meet another of Ruth's new support people, things are going ok here and it's life enhancing for Ruth in so many ways now adequate support is in place.   Ruth and A cooked a delicious sausage casserole for tea.

This evening Ruth and I went to look at a couple of things she's found on FB Marketplace.  A recliner sofa and chair which are just what she's been after and much more comfortable for her old dad than what she inherited here!   Also a powered wheelchair which could be very handy.  The owners will bring it over tomorrow so we can see if it will fit into and through Ruth's flat, the front entrance may defeat us.   Both things, while not cheap, are very fairly priced which is good.

A different kind of productive day but with Jamie settled in at Aaron's in Poole and Ruth content with her lot tonight, it's been a good one ... I even managed to fit in a siesta late this afternoon too :-)
