Halong Havoc

Drove 4 hours from Hanoi to Halong for our overnight cruise on a junk in Halong Bay. Unfortunately the weather Gods were against us with a storm predicted that night so the junks all had to be back in the harbour by 5pm. We had a lovely 4 hour cruise still and the room we were would have slept in was gorgeous but better to be safe than sorry. We were rebooked into the 5* Plaza instead which was a very good substitute though. After dinner we walked along the waterfront and were safely back in the room when the storm hit hard - spectacular watching the sky light up across the bay and the rain came down in sheets.
