SOB - Finals Day

Finals for all three divisions (upper, middle, and lower) for all genders (men, women, and coed) were today, which meant a loooong day on the sand. Ixtapa is unique among the three venues (Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa, and Cabo San Lucas) because a male and female professional actually compete in the tournament. Here Andy Benesh, on the left, shows that he is definitely in it to win it, which he eventually did (as did the woman professional, his girlfriend Deahna Kraft). His name may become more recognizable over the coming year because he is attempting to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
