Idlescombe Wood

Mrs L went off to Surrey for a walk with some friends from university so the spaniel and I had the day to ourselves. We had  another eight mile walk in the morning, from Turville Heath down to Southend, Turville and Fingest, then up the valley to Ibstone and back to Turville Heath. The thick mist persisted all morning. Although that meant there were no distant views I liked the misty effect in the beech woods. The sun broke through around lunchtime so the afternoon walk (another four miles) was a complete contrast.
