I half remember from my A Level English that sickly characters in Victorian novels would always repair to the seaside to take the air. It was reputed to aid recovery.

And so it was, dear reader, that I did transport the sickly offspring to Musselburgh beach after their dentist appointment. I think they enjoyed it although Joe believes the chips smothered in cheese and curry sauce he bought from the Sizzlers van has done more for his recuperation. His lungs are still painful and I’m hoping that sorts itself out in the weeks ahead as we don’t have follow up x rays now for a while.

No breeze at all today to bother sickly lungs which resulted in a completely unruffled stretch of water.
