Lady in Red

The sun was up and shining brightly when we rolled down to the beach this morning but there was frost on the pavements and sand. The tide was in and the sea calm and clear. Sue and I managed 7 minutes in the water watched by her husband and sister-in-law who sensibly stayed on shore.

Then it was a power walk along the prom to a busy Beach House for warming coffees and croissants for everyone except our St Valentine’s day host who may have forgotten the roses for Sue but ordered a plate of pancakes covered in banana and chocolate (in the extra)and making amends for his forgetfulness by letting us each have a forkful.

My visitors are suitably engaged with the Dr Who exhibition at the museum and then this afternoon with their Grandfather but will arrive later with the Glasgow gang and Porty daughter for pizzas at Söderberg. Our gathering of eight may tax the pizza chef’s expertise in timing somewhat.
