A juvenile grey butcherbird

I took this photo through my back glass panel as the bird would have flown away if I opened the sliding door. 

The adult grey butcherbird (cracticus torquatus) has a beautiful grey, white and black colouring. The juveniles are coloured brown and beige. This is clearly a juvenile.

Butcherbirds get their name from their eating style. I am hoping the link below will take you to the grey butcherbird singing. It is a sound I hear  every day.
