Wedding day…

We remember well, Wanda and Alastair’s wedding day, just eight years ago. The years they had together were very happy and a wonderful gift to them, spent to the full. Alastair was wonderful at knowing exactly what Wanda loved doing and she often shared yet another special holiday or even an evening that he’d carefully planned.

Today his funeral service was tailor made for him with Led Zeppelin and Neil Young music. He loved his music! Wanda often spoke of buying yet another bookcase for his vinyls collection. We heard tributes from friends and family, who will will miss him greatly.

At the service today were Wanda’s three young grandsons. Percy, the six year old, sat next to his nana during the service and looked after her so well. We sat behind them and saw the love between then. Afterwards, he and his younger brother had a great time playing hide-and-seek between the church pews. Watched by Dad of course. Wonderful.

I look forward to walks with Wanda again, when she is ready. She said she and I are good at laughing together. Tonight, I pray she will know peace and God’s care.
