Before the Storm…..

……. there was hardly a breath of wind to make the Toi Toi dance. Toi Toi with its elegant, graceful feathery fronds is a New Zealand native plant.
The whole country is on alert and watching the progress of Cyclone Gabrielle towards the north of the far north of the North Island. (Lots of norths) We expected Auckland to be the most heavily impacted but it seems much larger areas are going to feel the wrath of the storm. Many thousands have power outages, there are raging gales, huge seas and storm surges, flooding, land slips…..people in the North Island are in for a very bad night. Kia kaha.
