Wandsworth Common: Exuberant Ablutions

It was a beautiful spring-like day, so I went to Wandsworth Common on my way to a meeting near Wimbledon. I found the rakish MallardxDomestic drake (previously blipped here), and spent a while trying to get the exposure right on tufted duck shots (catching the iridescence without blowing out the white flanks...).
I thought that I'd be blipping one of those, but then I found this mallard splashing about, flipping over, and skimming about as he washed.
