...If I listened long enough to you..
Rod the Mod! Just checking out the BBC i-player and came across a small concert for radio 2......always been a fan....not so much in the Britt Ekland/leopard print trousers/First Cut is the Deepest days....but when he was with the Faces and his early solo stuff.
The Faces were a hell of a band.....the Boss saw them in Newcastle....and boy could they play.
How good were they? Well, after they split............
Rod had a pretty good solo career
Ronnie Wood joined the Stones
Kenny Jones replaced the late Keith Moon in the Who
Ronnie Lane had his own band Slim Chance....until he developed MS
Ian McLagan became a side man/keyboard player for the Stones.
Tonight's gig was a mix of Rod's new album...and some of the old classics....and his new band are pretty good too...all 14 of them.
As I was watching the Boss and the Daughter kept popping their heads round the door....then the Boss informed me he is currently on tour....and he's doing two nights in Manchester...and the Daughter looked up the details................
and the upshot is..........
I've just bought two tickets....£67.80 each....the most expensive were £243!
June 9th.........the Daughter is going to take us to the tram....and pick us up after the gig........she's just said "Something's going wrong...the world is upside down...the oldies are off to a gig and I'm dropping them off and picking them up!"
My reply was "Wake up Maggie"....dunno why....she's called Rachel not Maggie.
Mind you she's got a point....isn't 55 a bit old to be going to a rock concert?
