Mourning widow

Geranium phaeum, another plant that I have seen in the Pyrenees. So called because of it's dark flowers which generally face downwards, as if in mourning.

This may be a hybrid of gardens, perhaps crossed with Geranium pratense although it retains most of the character of the Mourning Widow, it's colour is brighter and the petals less swept back.

A busy week at work .... at least today I managed to snatch a few pictures before departing.
