A taste of Chester

An unexpectedly free day so Romy and I got the train to Chester for a little day-trip. It’s been years since I spent any proper time in Chester and it absolutely did not disappoint.

There’s a brand new market open with a food court serving the most delicious food from around the world and some great spaces to dine and shop. Very impressive. The day was spent either browsing quirky shops, sampling some interesting beers or eating delicious food. What a treat. A golden hour walk to the station along the river Dee to end the day.

Much as I bemoan the rail system in the U.K., it did well for us today. £12 return, regular trains, no delays and space to sit. A wonderful way to day-trip.
