Meeting Robert Burns

For the first time there was a Burns Lunch in the Glendaruel Hall , arranged by Cathleen , with local singing and fiddling, just the toast to and from the Lasses ( both well done) and a smattering of poetry including Tam O’ Shanter.

It was fun though I am always surprised by people who have never been to a Burns event before , such things having been part of my yearly ritual for more than half a century.

At this one there were several couples who were experiencing Burns for the first time and this was a good gentle way to introduce them - no heavy speeches and lots of good food and drink !

Last one for me this year is next Saturday in Dunblane.
